Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School

In the last few years, Mount Carmel has faced greater financial challenges and a resulting reduction in enrollment. Consequently, Archbishop Apuron announced in early 2007, that the Archdiocese would be closing Mount Carmel at the end of 2007. Many parents, students, former students, and community leaders asked the Archbishop to reconsider his decision and we promised to do everything possible to restore Mount Carmel to the solid educational institution it was for most of its 50 year history. In conjunction with this great effort, we formed the Mount Carmel Alumni and Endowment Foundation, Inc. The Archbishop has agreed and announced publicly that if we can deliver on our pledge to provide financial, administrative, and enrollment support, he will reconsider his earlier decision. I am proud to share we have had much success in all three areas, although our greatest challenge at this time remains raising the funds necessary to rebuild our school. Our goal is to raise $250,000.

In order to achieve our goal, we have planned many large events taking place over the next few months. Please join us at these Events to help us raise the funds we so badly need to keep MCS open.

In order to accomplish our goals and ensure the success of our planned events, we are inviting everyone to come out or send representatives for those of you off-island. We are now reaching thousands of our People on and off island, and we will continue to work with parents, students, former students, and other members of the Mount Carmel family who care very deeply about this project and who will never forget your generosity and assistance.
